Celebrating 5 Years Together
July 28, 2016
Indo-Armenian Friendship NGO is pleased to share with you all that 28th July 2016 marks the completion of 5 years of IAF’s formal registration, making us a young yet dynamic organization. During these 5 years we have managed to organize several events and programs, including but not limited to exhibitions, festivals, conferences, symposiums, chess tournament, numerous cognitive trips to different regions of Armenia, flash mobs, cultural and educational events, etc. We have also managed to gain some good and reliable partners, most of whom have over the course of these years become good friends of IAF. Most importantly, we have done our best to live up to our organization’s name by trying our every bit to be a strong platform for our friends from India in Armenia, while at the same time striving to create a support base for our Armenian compatriots living in India. Armenians traveling to India might be well aware that they can find a very warm IAF family, extending warm reception and support once they arrive in Delhi.
To kick-start the events of our 5 year anniversary celebrations, which is titled “5 Years Together”, IAF organized an exhibition titled “The Globe”, from 22nd to 24th July, showcasing the graphic works of young Indian artist Kantakishor Moharana. The exhibition was hosted by Naregatsi Art Institute in Yerevan. Kick-starting our 5th anniversary celebrations in Naregatsi Art center is very symbolic for us, as the very first event of IAF was also organized there.
As per tradition, the opening ceremony started with lighting of the lamp, which was followed by opening speeches by Ms. Lusine Toroyan, General Secretary of IAF, Nareg Hartounian, the founder of Naregatsi Art Institute and Chief Guest of the event, H.E. Mr. Yogeshwar Sangwan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Armenia and Georgia.

As a gift to IAF’s 5th anniversary, Mr. Kantakishore Moharana managed to make a symbolic sculpture dedicated to Indo-Armenian eternal Friendship, which will be opened for public viewing very soon.
IAF is extremely grateful to Mr. Moharana for this thoughtful gift and for being a friend to us and a supporter of our cause for years. We wish him all the best in his endeavors and look forward to future collaborations with him.
On the occasion of our 5th anniversary we at IAF would like to thank all those who were with us during these 5 years, who worked with us, encouraged us, trusted us and showered us with their love and support.
First and foremost we would like to extend our gratitude to each and every employee of the Embassy of India in Armenia for their continuous trust and support, especially to former Ambassadors, Amb. Achal K Malhotra, who was a guiding figure during the initial stages of IAF and Amb. Dr. Suresh Babu, who guided and helped IAF to grow from strength to strength. H.E. Mr. Yogeshwar Sangwan, current Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Armenia and Georgia has also extended continuous support to IAF even before his arrival to Yerevan earlier this year. IAF is humbled with their love and support which has been our solid strength in our journey so far.
Our heart-felt gratitude also goes to H.E. Mr. Armen Martirosyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to India and the staff of the Armenian Embassy in Delhi for their continuous support and encouragement to IAF. We feel humbled to receive the support of the Armenian Embassy and look forward to a long productive engagement.
We extend our gratitude to all our partners who have always been ready to support us in our initiatives. YSMU students deserve a special mention in this regard, as they have always been there, supporting us at every step. We thank our selfless office bearers and volunteers, who has been IAF’s true strength. Without their dedication and hard work the whole journey this far would have been impossible.
Thank You friends, and congratulations on the completion of 5 years of togetherness as a solid team, unnerved by all sort of challenges.
