Armenia to mark Maha Shivratri and pay respect to one of the most important and celebrated Gods of Hinduism, Lord Shiva. The program was organised with the initiative of the Indian students with the support of the Indian Cultural Centre.
With welcome speeches, ceremonial lighting of the lamp, historical ovierview of Maha Shivratri celebration and special Maha Shivratri aarti, the mood at the centre was electric. We had managed to create a little India for ourselves where each person could easily feel as if they were in India.
Having performed the necessary rituals, there was a short cultural program of Indian songs and dances by the medical students of YSMU and the Shakti Dance and Song group of the Indian Cultural Centre.
To make the celebration more holistic, the students had also prepared special Indian dishes for the occasion which the guest enjoyed at the end of the program.
On behalf of Indo-Armenian Friendship NGO we would like to thank all those that attended, especially the Students of YSMU for taking the initiative to mark this important festival in such an apt manner. Special thanks also to all the performers and our memebers and volunteers who are ever ready to lend a helping hand in all our projects.
The doors of the Indian Cultural Centre are always open for anyone and we are always ready to join hands with all likeminded parties in organising varous projects and discussing avenues of cooperation.
Once again we would like to send our heartfelt wishes on the occasion of Maha Shivratri. May Lord Shiva continue to shower his blessings on you and your loved ones.
